SANTO DOMINGO.- Un temblor de tierra de magnitud 4.0 en la escala abierta de Richter se sintió hoy a las 1:25 de la tarde en el territorio dominicano.

El epicentro del movimiento telúrico fue localizado a 97 kilómetros de profundidad a 18.9 kilómetros al Norte, próximo a Monte Plata y 96.7 al Oeste de Santo Domingo, según el Instituto de Sismología de la Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo (UASD).

El fenómeno fue percibido por habitantes de Santo Domingo, pero no se han reportado pérdidas materiales ni humanas producto del temblor.

El temblor de tierra provocó pánico a muchas pesonas que encontraban en edificios, muchos los abandonaron.
